Thomas Voorn

Thomas Voorn is a Rotterdam based artist, he was my teacher at the academy of arts. He works as a designer and art-directer and I really like his work, esspecially his garment graffiti. It's so simple but I think it looks great! Take a look at his website.

When I visit my parents and spend the nigth at their place I always sleep next to my old teddybear and this little doll in a flowery dress. When I was little I didn't quite like them, I always prefered the newer, bright colored stuffed animals. Nowadays I can see the beauty in these two and I'm sure that I will never throw them away! If I might have kids some day I will definitely pass these on to them. :)

Vintage finds 5

When I go to a flea market I always check all the cans and boxes cause sometimes you can find some beautiful treasures in there like I found when I opened this can. The little green bottle, the tiny wooden shoe and the bottle filled with these lovely pink beads, I love it! The green bottle makes me wanna write a letter to put in there and throw it into the sea. I was watching tv a while ago and there was this story about a beachcomber who said he finds these bottles filled with letters daily. I love the idea people still do that! Have you ever done it?

A little preview of the shoot I did last weekend.. I know it might look like the shoot I did a while ago but that one was for a designer. This shoot was just for my portfolio so I could use my own styling. I wanted it to be more dreamy and romantic...

Walking on clouds

Do you have a fear of flying? I don't, I love it.. I esspecially love the moment when you go through the clouds and no matter how grey the sky was, when you come out the sun is shining and the sky above you is blue. I made these airplane pictures when I came back from France. I think the colors are quite pretty and on the first pic it looks like you can just jump on the clouds. I wish I could walk on clouds. Until I can, I think I'll just practice on my bed... :)

Taking a bath

I took these pictures in France when I was taking a walk in the beautiful scenery there. I don't know if it's just me but I think there's something magical about these baths wich were just out there. I wish I had a model with me cause I could definitely see a fashion shoot there with a pretty model in a lacy white dress and with long blond curly hair. So instead of the model there's the dandelion in between the bath pics. I think I'm gonna have to find myself some modeling friends who I can take for a walk... :)

I saw these pretty vintage tiles on a flea market in France and I love the combination of them all together. I wish my bathroom would be covered with these tiles...

The search for..

Some new collages I made in my scrapbook for some inspiration. I found the old postcard (which you can see on the second image) on a flea market a while ago, it was send in 1946 by a father to his son. I'm thinking about a search for the son to give him this card back like Amélie does in the movie with the cigar-box she finds in her bathroom. This man is probably in his seventies right now so I hope I will still be able to find him...

My Isabel Marant jumpsuit has got the same colors as my dried hydrangea's..

I was driving around a while ago when I saw this building being pulled down. I quite like the way it looks, it makes me think of a big doll house. The people who used to live there definitely liked color! Wonder how they would feel seeing this. If it was my house I think I would be heart-broken!

I made so many pictures last week in France, I hope I'm not boring you with them! It was just so beautiful up there on the mountain I couldn't stop pressing the shutter button on my camera. I love the sunset and the colors it gives.. I'm revealing some more of myself today on the first picture, just don't pay attention to my outfit! ;) Though my head isn't even on it, I must say I think modeling is quite difficult! Most of the time I don't really like pictures I'm on. I prefer to stay on the other side of the lens! Really respect the fashion bloggers who take so many pictures of themselves and look really good on it every time! Maybe I'll go and practice some more so I can show you a bit of my wardrobe soon.. What do you think? Should I?

Vintage finds 4

I found these vintage pictures on a flea market a while ago. I think they're beautiful, I love old pictures! Maybe I will use them for my scrapbooks..

I'm usually not such a big fan of fall cause in Holland it's always raining. But last week in France I changed my mind. It was beautiful there, the sun was shining and all these colors were amazing! Orange, yellow, brown, red, I love these warm nuances. Despite of the rain in Holland I will enjoy fall a bit more now!
